Man accused of breaking boy's leg

By Times Staff Writer
Published January 4, 2006

PLANT CITY - A Plant City man was arrested Monday, accused of breaking the leg of a 3-year-old boy by kicking him in the thigh in what he said was an attempt to discipline him.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office arrested George Allen Ross, 26, of 1125 E Trapnell Road, and charged him with aggravated child abuse. He remained at the Orient Road Jail on Tuesday held without a set bail.

Deputies said the boy was at home with Ross just before 5 p.m. Monday. The boy was disrespecting his mother, Ross told investigators. He kicked the boy in his right thigh and broke his femur, deputies said.

Jail records show that Ross has been arrested at least four other times in Hillsborough County since 2001, including one other time for aggravated child abuse.
