TAMPA - A Temple Terrace woman who police say is missing may have planned to drive to North Florida over the weekend, police said Wednesday.

Sandra Hamby Prince, 59, of 11507 Moffat Place was last seen Friday at her place of work.

Temple Terrace police spokeswoman Paula MacDonald said the agency is seeking information from anyone who may have seen Prince or her car - a white 1994 Buick Park Avenue four-door with a Florida State University specialty license plate reading "SHP" - on or near the Interstate 75 corridor over the New Year's weekend. The car was parked in Prince's two-car garage on Tuesday, when police first received notice from a worried neighbor that Prince had not been seen recently.

MacDonald said it isn't clear whether Prince owns a second vehicle. Public property records were not conclusive either.

Investigators want to know, "if she did go and came back or if she ever went at all," MacDonald said. The spokeswoman said she did not know specifically where Prince may have gone or for what purpose.

Prince has lived in the Tampa Bay area for decades. Her employer said she was instrumental in helping found the Agency for Community Treatment Services Inc. nearly 30 years ago. Today, she oversees grant implementation for ACTS, a substance abuse treatment agency.

Police said Prince is 5-feet-6 with brown hair and brown eyes. Born in Virginia and raised in North Carolina, Prince speaks with a thick Southern accent, a colleague said.

Anyone with information was asked to call Detective Darrin Berberat at (813) 989-7118 or, after hours, (813) 989-7110.
