Man admits abuse, gets probation

By Times Staff Writer

LARGO - A Largo man charged with abusing his two young children has pleaded guilty to the charges and has been placed on probation.

Lee A. Brooks, 25, pleaded guilty Thursday to three counts of child abuse and aggravated child abuse.

Largo police arrested Brooks in May after he admitted abusing his 3-year-old daughter and 6-month-old son. Police said Brooks broke the girl's leg and fractured four of the boy's ribs when he got frustrated with the children.

As part of a plea deal settled in court Thursday, Brooks, who has no previous criminal record in Florida, will serve five years of probation.
