Christine Karner-Johnson has been named media director at Schifino Lee Advertising, Tampa. Karner-Johnson was media supervisor/associate media director at WestWayne Inc., Tampa.

Roberts Communications, Tampa, announces these appointments: Anika Easter, copy writer; and Liz Wozney, art director. Easter was a copy writer at FKQ Advertising, Clearwater; and Wozney is a recent graduate of Florida State University and previously served as an intern.


Pilot Bank, Tampa, announces these appointments: Michael Amoroso, vice president of Pilot Bank's South Tampa office; and Tina Swain, vice president. Amoroso was manager at Associated Bank in Wisconsin; and Swain was assistant vice president of finance.


Aging Wisely Inc., Clearwater, announces these appointments: Sharon Stelbasky, professional care manager; and Pat Bickel, daily money manager. Stelbasky was nursing home administrator at the Springs at Boca Ceiga Bay, St. Petersburg; and Bickel was a community volunteer for several organizations.


Tony Crimi has been named Sales Manager of Year by the Tampa Bay Builders Association. Crimi is sales manager at Beazer Homes in the Tampa Bay region.

Norman B. Krone has been named development officer at DeBartolo Development LLC, Tampa. Krone was chief operating officer at Olympia Development Group Inc., Dunedin.

Francine Miller has been named regional president of Florida operations for Kimball Hill Homes, Tampa. Miller was division president for the Tampa division of U.S. Home.


The TBE Group, Clearwater, announces these appointments: Jerry Comellas Jr., director of Clearwater Utilities; and Hamid Faraji, assistant director. Comellas was a special projects administrator for the Florida Department of Transportation's District Seven, Tampa; and Faraji will continue to serve as senior drainage engineer and senior project manager for TBE's transportation division's roadways service group.

Jeanna Dean has been named utility coordination manager at KCI Technologies Inc., Tampa. Dean was utility coordinator at HDR Engineering, Tampa.


Mike Pine has been recognized by the Tampa Bay Builders Association with the 2006 Associate Member of the Year Award. Pine is a loan officer at Market Street Mortgage, Tampa.


Bayfront Medical Center, St. Petersburg, announces these appointments: Dr. Paul McRae has been named chief of staff for 2006-07; Dr. Mark Norstein has been named vice chief of staff for 2006-07; Dr. Brett Bolhofner and Dr. Hugh van Gelder have been elected members-at-large to the Medical Executive Committee; and Sue Brody has been named 2006 chairwoman of the Florida Hospital Association. McRae is a gastroenterologist with a private practice in St. Petersburg and has been a member of Bayfront's staff for 25 years; Norstein is a family physician with a private practice in St. Petersburg; Bolhofner is an orthopedic surgeon with a private practice in St. Petersburg; van Gelder is a cardiac surgeon with a private practice in St. Petersburg; and Brody is president and chief executive.


Brian P. Battaglia has been appointed to the executive committee at the law firm of Battaglia, Ross, Dicus & Wein P.A., St. Petersburg. Battaglia is a shareholder and practices in the areas of employment law and business litigation.

Dinita L. James has been elected to serve on the Governing Council of the American Bar Association's Section of Litigation and has been appointed chairwoman of the council's CLE Committee. Also, James was named president of the C.H. Ferguson-M.E. White American Inn of Court. James is a partner and practices in the areas of labor and employment law at the law firm of Ford & Harrison, Tampa.

Fowler White Boggs Banker, Tampa, announces these appointments: Rhea F. Law has been elected to the Florida Council of 100's Executive Committee; Latour "LT" Lafferty has been named a shareholder; and James J. Evangelista has been named statewide health care practice group leader. Law is president and chief executive; Lafferty practices in the firm's health care and white-collar crime practice groups; and Evangelista is a shareholder and practices in civil litigation.


Mike Beardsley has been named an art director at Roberts Communications, Tampa. Beardsley was principal of design for Treble Hook Design, Tampa.


Michael W. Johnson has been named director of administrative services at the Suncoast Center for Community Mental Health Inc., St. Petersburg. Johnson was senior clinical consultant for CMHC Systems in Orlando.

Vicki Johanson has been named site director at LifePath Hospice's Sun City Center operations. Johanson was administrator for interdisciplinary teams at Hospice of the Lakes in Palatka.


Alexis M. Shuder has been appointed governor of Toastmasters Area 2, St. Petersburg. Shuder is public information specialist for the city of St. Petersburg.

Nadine Smith is the recipient of the 2005 Eddie Mitchell Memorial Award given by the Tampa/Hillsborough County Human Rights Council. Smith is executive director of Equality Florida, St. Petersburg.


Laura Woodard has been named Tampa division manager at Asset Preservation Inc. Woodward was marketing director at affiliate company Stewart Title, Tampa.

Barbara Hunter has been promoted to senior property manager at Crescent Resources LLC, Tampa. Hunter was property manager.


E Solutions Corp., Tampa, announces these appointments: Ken Brasch, vice president of sales; Zina Cannon, chief financial officer; and Ken Seitz, chief information officer. Brasch was regional sales director; Cannon was controller; and Seitz was director of data center operations.

Nikki Willett has been promoted to vice president of marketing at Pilgrim Software Inc., Tampa. Willett was director of products and was acting director of marketing.


Patrick McKeon has been named Driver of the Year by the Florida Public Transit Association. McKeon is a bus operator for the Hillsborough Regional Transit Authority, Tampa.


Michael Halflants is the recipient of the 2005 Eduardo Garcia Award. Given by the Tampa Bay American Institute of Architects, the award recognizes contributions to the field of architecture. Halflants is an assistant professor at the University of South Florida School of Architecture and Community Design, Tampa, and has a private practice in Tampa.


Stephanie Agliano has been promoted to director of community relations at Tampa Electric. Agliano was regional manager/community relations.


Janice Woolard has been named assistant manager of Brandon Veterinary Specialists. Woolard was an ICU nurse at Florida Veterinary Specialists, Tampa.
