Police: Man stalked Idol finalist

TAMPA - A 59-year-old California man is being held without bail in the Hillsborough County jail, after Tampa police charged him with stalking fourth-season American Idol finalist Jessica Sierra.
Sierra, 20, told police that Daniel Robert Young started calling her in mid-September and has grown more persistent and aggressive - calling her cell phone several times a day and leaving angry messages when she refuses to pick up.
When the Tampa native moved a few weeks ago to Nashville to pursue her singing career, Young called to say he was moving there, too, according to police.
He sent jewelry and flowers at Christmas.
Tuesday, he showed up at Sierra's grandparents' South Tampa home. Police arrested him on one misdemeanor count of stalking.
