Boats, advice coming to the Trop

ST. PETERSBURG - Hundreds of boats will be on display this week at the eighth annual Tampa Bay Boat Expo at Tropicana Field. The show also features several fishing seminars.

The expo runs from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. Admission is $7 for adults, $3 for children 5 through 12.

Charter captains and fishing experts will conduct the seminars.

Saturday's sessions include "Snook Fishin' for the Ladies," 11 a.m. with Capt. Rachel Nobbe; "Cobia Fishing at Its Best," 1 p.m. with Capt. Sergio Atanes; "Night Snook Fishin'," 2 p.m. with Capt. Dave Ponerleau; and "Landing the Big Grouper," 3 p.m. with Capt. Nelson Guerra.

Sunday's seminars include "Fighting With the Mighty Redfish," 11 a.m. with Capt. Anibal Roman; "Water Is Cold/Fishin' Is Hot," 1 p.m. with Atanes; "The Best of Snook," 2 p.m. with Capt. Joel Brandenburg; and "Landing the Big Grouper," with Guerra.

Atanes owns S&I Charters, which is conducting the seminars.

Besides boats, there will be trailers, engines, electronics and accessories on display.
