INDIAN ROCKS - Keswick Christian and Calvary Christian battled through fog, rain, regulation play and overtime Tuesday without deciding a winner.
The Class 2A, District 10 semifinal game even went into a second shootout.
Finally, Crusaders goalie Jake Keglor came up with a huge save and Jake Lorenzen scored an even bigger goal, and Keswick (9-10-2) advanced to the championship game with a dramatic 6-5 victory.
"I was nervous the whole game," Keglor said. "This was intense."
Keswick's Kenny Lucas scored his 18th goal of the season 16 minutes in to give the Crusaders a 1-0 lead. Four minutes later, Trey Howard scored for Calvary (7-9-3). In the first shootout, Jed Mootsey, Lucas, Jason Weldon and James Calvert all scored for the Crusaders. For the Warriors, Greg McClimans, Beecher Jacobsen, Jamie Center and Peter Barr scored.
Before the sudden death shootout, Keglor walked to the center of the field and gave his kickers a pep talk.
"If I block this (first shot), please make it," he asked.
Keglor, a senior, followed his request with a big save, then Lorenzen took his shot that won it.
In the title game, the Crusaders face Indian Rocks, which they played to a 1-1 final during the regular season.
