SECO SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM: Up to 12 high school seniors from Sumter Electric Cooperative's service territory will be chosen to receive $2,000 scholarships. To qualify, high school graduates must reside in a home served by SECO and be enrolled in an accredited college, university or vocational/technical school by the end of 2006.
Application forms are available from all SECO offices and at the guidance offices of area high schools. Deadline is March 24.
REALTORS SCHOLARSHIPS: The Florida Association of Realtors is offering a total of $41,000 in scholarship awards in its 2005-06 scholarship/essay contest. To enter, students are asked to write an essay of 500 words or fewer on "How does a Realtor professional benefit the community?" Application kits are available in school guidance offices or can be found at http://media.living.net Deadline is March 17.
MENTORS: Take Stock in Children is recruiting mentors. Volunteers meet an hour per week in a school-based setting at local Citrus County middle or high school. Take Stock in Children is a school-based youth mentoring program providing scholarships for qualified students from households that meet financial requirements.
