CRYSTAL RIVER - Based on glowing six-month status reports, the Crystal River City Council on Monday granted City Manager Phil Deaton and city attorney Anthony Perrone 7 percent raises.

Deaton also received an extra two weeks of vacation. Deaton's salary will increase from $85,000 to $90,950. Perrone's will go from $49,440 to $52,900.

Council members also voted to increase the city's fees for storage of abandoned and confiscated vehicles from $4 to $20 a day.

"With a fine of $4 a day, people tend to leave the vehicles in our possession," Deaton joked.
