DEAN TO CHAIR CRIMINAL JUSTICE TRAINING COMMISSION: Dr. Stacy L. Dickson Jr., Central Florida Community College dean of public service, was recently appointed chairman of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement's Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission. Dickson has served on the 19-member commission that establishes standards for the employment and training of law enforcement, correctional and correctional probation officers since August of 2000. He is the first community college training center director to serve as chairman. Dickson is also a member of the Criminal Justice Educators Association and the Criminal Justice Training Center Directors Association.

FLORAL CITY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SCIENCE FAIR WINNERS: First place, Jasper Farr; second place, Jake Chason and Jesse Phillips; third place, Caroline Petellat and Rebecca Wright; honorable mention, Amanda Brewer, Tyler Fitzgibbon, Coral Gowen, Robbin Kuzyk, Collette McDonald, Deanna Mielke and Travis Sharon.
