Daily fishing report
By CHUCK ROGERS
Published January 26, 2006
Fishing remains slow in the middle and upper bay. Cooler temperatures and a constant northwest wind have made finding fish a chore.
The fish that we are finding are in the northern end atDouble Branch A Cut and Rocky Creek. Most of the action has been at high tide. Low tide in the morning has made it difficult to move around, so focus your attention to the afternoon.
For some quick action, the Tampa Electric power plant in Apollo Beach still has large schools of big jacks. Cobia also has been spotted there in the last few days.
Rumors of white bait in the area have been circulating, but most anglers are keeping those spots under wraps. Your best bet for white bait is the deep channels and around bridges and range markers.
Chuck Rogers charters out of Rattlesnake Point Outfitters at Bayside Marina in Tampa. Call 813 835-1919 or e-mail at rspo@tampabay.rr.com
