Women: Bears get elusive Big 12 road win

AMES, Iowa - Sophia Young had 17 points and 11 rebounds, Angela Tisdale added 17 points and No. 9 Baylor beat Iowa State 79-64 Wednesday night for its first conference road win of the season.
Baylor (14-3, 4-3 Big 12), which made 11 of 23 3-pointers and outrebounded the Cyclones 50-39, took the lead midway through the first half and never looked back against one of the league's top home teams.
Lyndsey Medders had 29 points for Iowa State (12-5, 3-3), which lost at Hilton Coliseum for the second time in 24 games.
Baylor's Chameka Scott picked up her second double double of the season with 14 points and 13 rebounds.
The Cyclones pulled within 10 twice in the second half, 46-36 and 63-53, but the Bears kept a number of possessions alive with offensive rebounds that led to baskets.
Scott capped a 14-6 run with two 3-pointers to give Baylor a 60-42 lead. After the Cyclones fought back within 10, the Bears quickly jumped ahead 69-55.
Iowa State never got closer than 11 the rest of the way.
Tisdale helped start a 15-4 run that gave Baylor a 20-8 lead midway through the first half. With Iowa State hounding Young on every possession, Tisdale made two 3s and converted a layup that put the Bears up 18-8. Young followed with her first basket with just more than 10 minutes left to give Baylor a 12-point lead.
The Cyclones got within 31-26, but 3s from Jordan Davis and Chameka Scott helped the Bears grab a 39-28 lead at the break.
NO. 12 DePAUL 48, LOUISVILLE 44: Allie Quigley had 17 points and nine rebounds, Khara Smith had 12 rebounds and five steals and Jenna Rubino added 10 points for the host Blue Demons (18-2, 5-2 Big East). With the score tied at 11, DePaul went on a 15-0 run to take the lead for good.
NO. 13 OKLAHOMA 75, TEXAS 57: Freshman Courtney Paris had a career-high 32 points and 16 rebounds for her 12th straight double double to lead the host Sooners. Oklahoma (16-4, 6-0 Big 12) won its fourth straight, including a win at defending national champion Baylor, and maintained a two-game lead in the conference.
NO. 18 NEW MEXICO 76, S.D. STATE 45: Dionne Marsh scored 18 and the host Lobos tied their season high with nine 3-pointers. New Mexico (15-4, 5-1 Mountain West) used an 11-0 run in the first half to break it open and hand the Aztecs their seventh straight loss.
NO. 20 BYU 67, TCU 64: Ambrosia Anderson had 24 points and 10 rebounds, and the visiting Cougars rallied. Down 51-44 with 10:45 left, BYU went on a 7-0 run, tying it on Mallary Gillespie's 3-pointer. After free throws put the Horned Frogs up 54-51, the Cougars went ahead for good on consecutive 3s by Melinda Johnsen and Anderson.

TAMPA 71, SAINT LEO 62: Tay Mathis had 16 points to lead four players in double figures, and the visiting Spartans (13-5, 5-2 Sunshine State) cruised after opening with a 17-3 run.
