SHIVER SOME TIMBERS
Gasparilla, Tampa's grand party day, whirls through on Saturday with the annual invasion flotilla, street festival and parade of pirates. The carousing starts with the flotilla led by the Jose Gasparilla, which sails into Tampa Bay about 11:30 a.m., goes between Davis Islands and Harbour Island, and docks near the Tampa Convention Center, where the mayor surrenders the keys to the city. The parade begins at 2 p.m. at Bayshore and Bay to Bay boulevards and winds north along Bayshore, turns through the Channelside area and ends at Jackson and Marion streets. The street festival continues from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. along Franklin Street downtown. It's all free, but get there early for a prime viewing spot. Shuttles are available from Raymond James Stadium. Or catch it all on TV. The parade will be broadcast live at 2:30 p.m. on WFLA-Ch. 8.
A FLOCK OF FESTIVALS
For less raucous entertainment, check out these weekend festivals: Pinellas Folk Festival, Saturday in Largo; the Kumquat Festival, Saturday in Dade City; the Ringling Circus Spectacular Celebration, Saturday and Sunday at the Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota; or the Vietnamese New Year Celebration, Sunday in St. Petersburg.
WEEKEND BOATERS, AHOY!
All the latest toys for boaters are on display at the Tampa Bay Boat Expo today through Sunday at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg. Show hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. Admission is $7 for adults, $3 ages 5-12. Toll-free 1-888-234-7770, 727 825-3137 or www.tropboatshow.com

The hottest runway styles arrive Sunday and Monday in the 48th annual Ebony Fashion Fair. The show steps off at 5 p.m. Sunday at Tampa Theatre, 711 Franklin St., Tampa. $30; (813) 229-8117. It repeats at 8 p.m. Monday at the Coliseum, 535 Fourth Ave. N, $30 advance, $35 door; students $15 at door only, (727) 866-8049 or (727) 892-5202.
ART TO TREASURE
Art Festival Beth-El isn't as large as its outdoor counterparts, but always features a fine array of original art. Studio glass, jewelry and representational painting are especially well represented. The preview cocktail reception ($20) is from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free to the remainder of the show, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday. Temple Beth-El is at 400 Pasadena Ave. S, St. Petersburg. (727) 347-6136.
