Still time to send quartet to sing to your Valentine

Book an old-fashioned barbershop quartet to serenade your Valentine. The Palm Harbor Crystal Aires chorus will send a quartet anywhere in Pinellas or Pasco counties between Feb. 11 and Feb. 14. The quartets will sing three classic love songs and present a silk rose and a scroll. The cost starts at $50. Proceeds will benefit the Palm Harbor Activities Center, the Parent Organization, the Harmony Foundation and other national programs that encourage youth singing in America. Early reservations will be given scheduling preference. The chorus will accept only the first 100 reservations. Call 586-4817 or 787-4120.
Special phones available free for deaf residents
Local residents who are deaf, hard of hearing, deaf/blind or speech-impaired can receive specialized telephones and ring signaling devices at no cost. Eligible recipients must live in Florida for at least six months of the year. Telecommunications access for the hearing- and speech-impaired is funded by a surcharge on all telephone consumers' phone bills. Equipment is available by appointment 8:30 a.m-5 p.m., Monday through Friday through Deaf and Hearing Connection's main office or at satellite locations throughout Pinellas and Hillsborough counties. CLEARWATER - A free legal workshop is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 6 at the YWCA Hispanic Outreach Center, 612 Franklin St., Clearwater. Spanish-speaking volunteer attorneys will provide information on issues including immigration, landlord/tenant, divorce, custody, child support, labor/employment and personal injury. Suncoast String Band looking for musicians
The Suncoast String Band, which has performed in Pinellas County for more than 25 years, needs musicians who can play saxophone, banjo, violin, guitar, accordion or drums.
