Funny Cide, Sun King will race Thursday at Gulfstream

HALLANDALE BEACH - Funny Cide has been entered in a 1-mile allowance race Thursday at Gulfstream Park.
Funny Cide finished seventh in his most recent start, the Grade III Mr. Prospector Handicap on Jan.7. Edgar Prado will be aboard again.
Also entered is Sun King , making his first start since finishing ninth in the Breeders' Cup Classic.
Funny Cide won the Kentucky Derby and Preakness in 2003 but various ailments slowed him last year, when his best finish was fourth in three starts. Sun King won the Tampa Bay Derby in March.

Baghdatis a big mover
Australian Open finalist Marcos Baghdatis moved up from No.54 to No.27 in the ATP Tour rankings after his strong showing in the first Grand Slam of the year. Open champion Roger Federer remains in the top spot followed by Rafael Nadal , who missed the tournament with a left foot injury. In the WTA Tour rankings, Kim Clijsters , who reached the semifinals in Melbourne before an ankle injury forced her to quit her semifinal match, took the No.1 spot from Lindsay Davenport .
FAMILY CIRCLE CUP: Serena and Venus Williams are returning to the event, scheduled for April 10-16 in Charleston, S.C., joining defending champion Justine Henin-Hardenne .
TOURNAMENTS: Croatian Marin Cilic , 17, won his ATP Tour debut in his home country, topping No.7 seed Igor Andreev 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 at the Zagreb Indoors. ... Defending champion Gaston Gaudio beat Felipe Parada 6-1, 6-4 at the Movistar Open in Vina Del Mar, Chile.

MetroStars deal Razov
Chivas USA acquired forward Ante Razov , the fourth-leading goal scorer in MLS history, from the MetroStars for forward Thiago Martins . Razov has 84 goals in 10 seasons with Los Angeles, Chicago, Columbus and the MetroStars.
AFRICAN CUP OF NATIONS: Guinea defeated Tunisia 3-0 to win Group C in Cairo in a match between teams that had clinched quarterfinal spots. South Africa lost 1-0 to Zambia and was ousted without scoring in three games.
WORLD CUP: NATO will have AWACS surveillance planes patrolling the sky over Germany during the tournament, German defense minister Franz Josef Jung said.

OLYMPICS: The International Olympic Committee will conduct doping tests at next month's Turin Games after the Italian government decided not to press its demand to carry them out. ... Italian police tightened security at Turin's venues and said preparations were going smoothly, though some residents complained they were not receiving the same protection given the Winter Games sites.
ARENA FOOTBALL: Three players were suspended for their roles in a fight during a Jan.18 scrimmage. Georgia's Nate Coggins was suspended for four games without pay and fined $1,000. Teammate Prentice Purnell and Utah's Garrett Smith were each fined $500 and suspended one game.
