GOING FOR THE GOLD - BUCKLE, THAT IS

They're stars on TV and, in the ring, tough guys who can earn millions by hanging onto a bucking bull for 8 seconds. The top ranks of Professional Bull Riders compete at 8 tonight at the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa. On the bill is last year's PBR champion, Justin McBride, and former champion Chris Shivers, who has won in Tampa three times and just passed the $3-million career earnings mark. GOING FOR THE GOLD - STATUETTES

Now is the time to catch up on all the Oscar-nominated movies before the March 5 awards. Four of the Best Picture and Best Director nominees are still on the big screen in the Tampa Bay area: Brokeback Mountain, Capote, Munich and Good Night, and Good Luck. The fifth, Crash, is available on DVD. Several others with major nominations remain as well: Walk the Line (Lead Actor and Lead Actress); Mrs. Henderson Presents (Lead Actress); Transamerica (Lead Actress); and Syriana (Supporting Actor). Other major award nominees available on DVD include Hustle & Flow; Cinderella Man; Junebug; and The Constant Gardener.

LISTENING TO THE OLD - MASTERS

The first St. Petersburg Chamber Music Festival concludes this weekend with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center giving an all-Mozart program. The concert is at 7:30 tonight at the Palladium Theater, 253 Fifth Ave. N, St. Petersburg. $18-$24. Pianist Wu Han and violinist Ani Kavafian will hold a master class at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Palladium. $8. ART FROM THE BOLD - PHOTOGRAPHERS

An exhibition of almost 150 works by some of the 20th century's most famous photographers, culled from the pages of Aperture photography journal, opens Saturday at the Museum of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg. Photographers include Henri Cartier-Bresson, Alfred Stieglitz, Dorothea Lange, Diane Arbus and Robert Ketchum. Photography Past/Forward: Aperture at 50 continues through April 30.
