Nineteen students from the Lakewood High School Debate and Speech Team competed at the Florida Forensic League Regional Qualifying tournament on Saturday at Wharton High School in Hillsborough County. The following students qualified to compete in the statewide FFL Varsity Tournament, scheduled for early March:
John Correa and Rachel Rolfe in policy debate.
Ron Overing and Michael Flegiel in public forum debate.
Chris Estoch and Rob Meister in public forum debate.
Seetha Nath and Carley Sattler in public forum debate.
Jessica Stark in oral interpretation.
Erik Johanson in domestic extemporaneous speaking.
Erik Johanson in original oratory.
Pierce Tibma qualified as a first alternate in extemporaneous speaking.
John DeSousa qualified as a second alternate in Lincoln-Douglas debate.
