NEW PORT RICHEY - Pasco County sheriff's detectives are looking for a man who snatched money from a convenience store cash register and tussled with a clerk Monday.

The 41-year-old clerk told police she scraped her arm while trying to keep the robber from snatching money from the register about 4 p.m. Monday.

A Sheriff's Office report said the man put $1.25 down on the counter to pay for a purchase and then snatched money from an open cash drawer. The man fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. Sheriff's spokesman Doug Tobin said detectives have a suspect in the case.

Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call the Sheriff's Office tips line toll-free at 1-800-706-2488.
