DADE CITY - A drive-by shooting Wednesday afternoon left one man hospitalized with two gunshot wounds.

It happened at 37344 Oak St. and was reported at 4:24 p.m., the Pasco Sheriff's Office said. The Sheriff's Office is withholding the victim's identity.

A man in his early to mid 60s and a friend were outside talking when a brown van with a man and woman inside drove by, authorities say. Shots were fired into the yard.

"We counted at least five bullet holes," said sheriff's spokesman Doug Tobin. The man was hit twice, in the hip and ankle; he was taken to a local hospital.

Anyone with information about this incident was asked to call the Pasco Sheriff's Crime Tips Line at toll free 1-800-706-2488.
