MOSAIC ART: Homosassa resident Bill Clark is displaying his mosaic art through March 3 at the Central Florida Community College Citrus County Campus, 3800 S Lecanto Highway (County Road 491). The exhibit is on the second floor of Building 2, adjacent to the library, and is free. Gallery hours are 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays.

LAUGHS: Comedian Dale Hoffman, the "drum comic," will headline at 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Giggles comedy club at the Park Inn Hotel, 4076 S Suncoast Blvd. (U.S. 19), in Homosassa Springs. Tickets are $7. Doors open for dinner at 7:30. Call 628-4311 for information.

IRISH EXTRAVAGANZA: Cahal Dunne's "Grand To Be Irish" show will will be at 4 p.m. Feb. 17 at Curtis Peterson Auditorium at Lecanto High School. Tickets are $15 and can be obtained at the American Irish Club, 4342 W Homosassa Trail, directly across from St. Scholastica Catholic Church. DINNER THEATER: Audience participation murder mystery Engaged in Murder opens Feb. 24 at Citrus Hills Country Club for a one-weekend run. The play is performed by Gulf Islands Civic Theatre. Menu choices are prime rib and chicken marsala. Cost $30. Feb. 24 and 25 seating at 5:30; dinner at 6:30; show at 7:30. MOCK BATTLE: A Nature Coast Civil War Re-enactment will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 11 and 12 at a vacant field about 7 miles north of Crystal River on U.S. 19. Battle starts at 2 p.m. each day. Admission is $4 for adults; $2 for children. Activities include period-authentic camping, exhibits and living history, along with period and modern concessions. BOOKS 'N' BLUES will be from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Feb. 17 at Our Florida Books & Art, 20709 W Pennsylvania Ave., Dunnellon. The event will feature Citrus author Ron Johnson signing the second installment of the Withlacoochee mystery trilogy Murder on the Withlacoochee. Photographer Joel Greenburg will exhibit black and white photos of the Rainbow and the Withlacoochee rivers, and the band Pappa Sass will perform. Admission is $10, which includes a buffet supper and drinks. Florida folk artist Ruby C. Williams will be the guest of honor at a reception from 1 to 4 p.m. Feb. 18. "NUNSENSE,' the comedy about a group of nuns that accidentally serves some poison vichyssoise, continues through Feb. 19 at Ocala Civic Theatre, 4337 E Silver Springs Blvd. in the Appleton Cultural Center. Curtain times are 8:15 p.m. for evening performances and 2:15 p.m. for matinees. Tickets are $19 for adults and $9 for full-time students. MARDI GRAS BASH: The Hernando County Fine Arts Council will celebrate the first anniversary of its Band Shell Bash concert series with a special Mardi Gras-themed show from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Hernando Park band shell. Featured will be Dixieland ensemble 23 Skidoo and Louisiana reggae artist Henry Turner. The free event will also include a classic car meet, food vendors and more. DOLL AND BEAR SHOW: The Brooksville Woman's Club will host its fourth annual Collectible Doll and Bear Show from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Hernando County Fairgrounds, 6436 S Broad St. Vendors will be selling collectible dolls, bears, clothing, jewelry, furniture and other items.
