CLEARWATER - A 15-year-old Clearwater High School student was arrested on weapons charges last month after police said he stocked his bedroom with guns, browsed white supremacist Web sites and made disturbing statements to classmates, the St. Petersburg Times has learned.

Christopher Rodriguez was charged with a felony for bringing brass knuckles to school and a misdemeanor for possessing a Derringer pistol at home, police said. He has been held at the Juvenile Detention Center since Jan. 18.

Police who searched Rodriguez's home found two rifles, homemade silencers, neo-Nazi hate literature and military manuals. They did not find evidence of a plan to use the guns or a hit list of potential victims.

An investigation began last month after Rodriguez made two disturbing remarks at school, police said.

Officers also searched the bedroom of one of Rodriguez's friends, and found knives, bats, BB guns, a crossbow and bullets. Prosecutors are considering charges against that teen, who was not named.

An investigation is continuing.
