Air Force Airman Richard M. Northrup, son of Mary Gorton of St. Petersburg, has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

Army Reserve Pfc. Ali T. Bazzi, son of Fatmeh Elghoul of St. Petersburg, has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. He received an associate's degree in 2005 from St. Petersburg College and is a 2002 graduate of Dixie Hollins High School.

Navy Seaman Recruit Robert N. Manley Jr., son of Teresa D. and Robert N. Manley of Gulfport, has reported for duty aboard the submarine tender USS Emory S. Land, forward deployed to La Maddalena, Italy. He is a 2004 graduate of Boca Ciega High School.

Marine Corps Pfc. Alida L. Perez, daughter of Amy Pagan of Pinellas Park, has completed the Marine Corps Enlisted Warehouse Basic Course at Combat Service Support Schools Training Command, Camp Lejeune, N.C.

Air Force Airman Christopher J. Hood, son of Allie Hood of St. Petersburg and Nancy Sanchez of Clearwater and a 2002 graduate of Countryside High School.
Air Force Airman Chandler Pitts, son of Charles Pitts and Christine Lacy of St. Petersburg and a 2005 graduate of Lakewood High School.

The following recruits recently returned to Fort Stewart, Ga., from deployment in Iraq with the 4th/64th Armor Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division:
Army Pfc. Staff Sgt. Robert Thomas, son of Jeffrey D. and Penny L. Thomas of Pinellas Park, a 1994 graduate of Dixie Hollins High School and a 1996 graduate of St. Petersburg Junior College. He is a wheeled vehicle mechanic.
Army Pfc. Staff Sgt. David Marriott, son of Vivian Marriott of St. Petersburg and a 1999 graduate of Northeast High School. He is a light-wheel vehicle mechanic.

Navy Seaman Recruit Michael Ficocelli, son of Kathy M. Ficocelli and Bob A. Ficocelli of Seminole and a 2005 graduate of Seminole High School.
