HOMOSASSA - Two men were injured Wednesday night after a high-speed chase in Homosassa ended with their car flipping several times, according to the Citrus County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators say Jacob R. Breeding, 18, of Homosassa and an unidentified 21-year-old Crystal River man led authorities on a chase north on U.S. 19 and onto Halls River Road, where the crash occurred. Breeding, who was driving, was in critical condition Thursday at Tampa General Hospital, said Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Larry Coggins. The passenger was in critical condition at Citrus Memorial Health System. Detective Chris Prus tried to stop the car as part of his investigation of a disturbance call at the Two Guys From Italy restaurant in Homosassa. The Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
