Brothers held in attack on teen

TAMPA - A teenager was knocked unconscious and slashed in the face during an armed robbery in his backyard near southeast Seminole Heights Monday afternoon, and the duo charged in the crime live three blocks away.
The victim, 15, was inside the fenced outdoor area of his home, 1505 E Cayuga St. shortly after 3 p.m. when two brothers, Lazaro M. Sierra and Paul C. Sierra, came onto the property, according to a Tampa police report.
The Sierra brothers knocked the teenager out, police said. After they took a cell phone and a knife from his pockets, the teen regained consciousness and struggled, according to police.
Lazaro Sierra, 26, cut the teen on the face and ran off with his brother.
One officer got a description of the armed robbers and relayed the information to two other officers in the area. One officer spotted Paul Sierra, 21, walking a couple of blocks away and arrested him.
Lazaro Sierra tried to run, but was quickly caught, according to the police report.
The victim got stitches at Tampa General Hospital and was released.
The Sierra brothers are each charged with armed robbery and armed burglary of a dwelling that involves an assault, felonies.
Tuesday, they were being held without bail in the Orient Road jail.
