ART WINNER: Citrus Springs Middle School's Donovan Foster, 13, has won the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's manatee art decal contest and will have his artwork featured on the 2006-07 manatee decal. His watercolor is titled Manatees at Sunrise and shows a manatee and her calf.

VOLUNTEER TRAINING: The Citrus County School District School and Community Relations Department will offer volunteer training at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the District Services Center. To sign up, call Pat Lancaster at 726-1931, ext. 2205.

STUDENT SHOWCASE AND PARENT EXPO: Community members, parents of children with disabilities, school administrators, teachers and teacher assistants are invited to CREST School for its first Student Showcase and Parent Expo at 6 p.m. March 14. There will be a free spaghetti dinner prepared by CREST students. Student work will be displayed, and agencies and organizations that provide services to the disabled will have information exhibits. There will be door prizes. Call the school at 527-0303 to register so students preparing dinner have a head count.

LITTLE RED SCHOOLHOUSE ACADEMY: The spring session of the Citrus County School District's Little Red Schoolhouse Academy will be from 6:30 to 9 p.m. April 11, 18, 25 and May 2 and 9 beginning at the District Services Center. This interactive, hands-on education series is an opportunity to learn about the operations of the district. It will include tours of the Instructional Resource Center, Withlacoochee Technical Institute, the Marine Science Station and the Academy of Environmental Science.

CRYSTAL RIVER MIDDLE SAEC MEETING: The Crystal River Middle School Advisory Enhancement Council will meet from 3 to 4:30 p.m. March 9 in the upstairs administrative conference room. The meetings are open to the public.
