Even in the urban sprawl of the Tampa Bay area, lots of communities keep a small-town feel to their celebrations.

Several take place this week, including Country in the Park in Pinellas Park with music, NASCAR displays, kids' activities and rides, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday in Town Square Plaza Park. Free. Above, Jane Pitts, left, and Sue Kelly chatted while waiting for the Ocean Road Band to play at last year's festival. This year's head- liners are T. Graham Brown and Confederate Railroad.

Seminole has its community festival, the Seminole Pow Wow, Friday and Saturday at the Holland Mangum Recreation Center. A parade is at 10 a.m. Saturday and fireworks at 8:45 Saturday night. Admission is free.

And the Citrus County Fair starts Monday and runs through March 25 with all of the traditional attractions. The fairgrounds are a mile and a half south of Inverness on U.S. 41. Admission is $5, $3 for ages 6-12. Opening day admission special, $1 for all ages.
