PALM BEACH - Four members of a family wanted by more than a dozen police agencies for crimes against the elderly in South Florida and Georgia have been arrested, federal authorities said.

Members of the Miller family have been arrested over the past two weeks, officials said. The family allegedly committed dozens of distraction thefts and home-invasion robberies across the Southeast, said Walt Reilly, a deputy with the U.S. Marshal's Office in Palm Beach.

"Our last count, it was about 18 different jurisdictions had open investigations into these guys," Reilly told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

Authorities said they had arrested Stanley Miller, 37; his wife or girlfriend, Lisa Johnson, 29; his son, Peter Miller, 22; and Stanley Miller's brother, Walter Miller, 24. Family members were arrested in Savannah, Ga.; Hardeeville, S.C.; and Hollywood, Fla.

Charges against some of the individuals include battery, auto theft and robbery, but police agencies across the Southeast are still trying to figure out how to charge the four, the Sun-Sentinel reported Saturday.
