TAMPA - A man died of a gunshot wound after trading gunfire with another man Saturday night in the Palm River area.

Joshua Davila, 38, was wounded outside his home at 2310 50th St S, Lot 11-B, Hillsborough deputies said. He was shot by Guillermo Potane, 36, of 1206 Harvest Home Court in Ruskin, authorities said.

Deputies said Davila arrived home to find his girlfriend moving her things out, helped by three men, including Potane. Davila argued with the men and pushed Potane down some stairs, they said. Both had handguns. Several shots were fired. One shot killed Davila. Another struck Potane, wounding him in the left shoulder. A third lightly grazed the hand of a 15-year-old Tampa boy at the scene, deputies said.

After the shooting, Potane drove to a nearby Radiant gas station and called the Sheriff's Office. He and the boy were treated at Tampa General Hospital and released. No charges had been filed as of Sunday evening.
