April culinary event to help CARES center

Tickets are on sale for "A Taste of West Pasco," a benefit for the CARES Hudson Bayonet Point Enrichment Center. The fundraiser will be from 4 to 6 p.m. April 5 at Tandem Health Care of Bayonet Point, 8132 Hudson Ave., Hudson.

Some 15 local restaurants will provide samples.

The proceeds will go toward reducing the CARES center's mortgage and buying needed equipment. Tickets are $10, $6 for seniors and students.

Meetings

The League of Women Voters will have its "Hot Issues" meeting at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at IHOP, 4736 U.S. 19, New Port Richey. Plans for candidate forums in Port Richey and New Port Richey will be discussed, and future programs will be planned.

AARP Chapter 434 will meet at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Asbury United Methodist Church, 4204 Thys Road, New Port Richey. A representative of the state AARP office will speak and take questions on the Medicare Part D prescription drug plan.

Dinner

Holiday United Church of Christ , 4826 Bartelt Road, Holiday, will have a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday. The cost is $5.
