Boil water notice issued after CR 486 line break

By Times Staff Writer
Published March 23, 2006

CITRUS HILLS - A water line break on County Road 486 has affected the Fairview and Presidential Estates service areas in Citrus Hills.

Wednesday, the county issued a precautionary boil water notice for that area because of the loss of pressure in the distribution system. All water used for consumption and cooking should be boiled until further notice. Citrus County Utilities will be flushing the affected lines and will collect two consecutive days of bacteriological samples as soon as all flushing and disinfecting is completed. This is a precautionary measure to ensure that the water meets all safe drinking water standards. This notice will remain in effect until satisfactory bacteriological samples are received. At that time, customers' doors will be tagged with a rescinding notice. Call 527-7650 for information or clarification.
