County will let land be annexed into city

By Times Staff Writer
Published March 23, 2006

CRYSTAL RIVER - The city received word Wednesday that the county will allow a plot of land to voluntarily be annexed into the city.

The parcel, at Old Tallahassee Road and State Park Drive, is owned by Ralph Rand. Rand wanted to annex the land so that it can be hooked onto the city's sewer system and to benefit from city zoning laws, said City Attorney Anthony Perrone. An ordinance regarding the annexation will be brought before the City Council at the April 10 council meeting.

CRYSTAL RIVER - Citrus County Fire Rescue responded to a minor plane crash Wednesday at the Crystal River Airport. When a pilot misjudged his landing, a front wheel snapped off his plane, causing it to careen into a ditch, fire rescue Capt. Wayne Fletcher said.
