Daily fishing report
By DOUG HEMMER

The kingfish run is on its way from the south. As the water temperature rises into the 70s, large schools of kings leave the Keys and head north.
I use a computer to track the movement. On Google, search for kingfishing reports from areas south of us. My first search is for Marco Island, typing "kingfish reports Marco." Then I look at the sites with reports to determine if the kings have moved that far north. If they are catching kings, I check the Boca Grande reports to find out how far the migration is from our area.
Once I know where the schools are, I'll go back to the computer and look for water temperatures. Type "sea surface temperature" into Google. Look for a site that has a Rutgers address, one of the best for finding water temperatures in our area. Look for pods of water that are 72 degrees.
The small pods farthest north probably hold the large kingfish. Look for large areas of 72 degrees to find the biggest concentration. This will at least put you close to kingfish areas.
