Associated Press
Published March 24, 2006

MELBOURNE - A small plane crashed near an industrial and office park about a mile from an airport runway Thursday, killing three people aboard.

The twin-engine Cessna had flown from Jacksonville and was approaching Melbourne International Airport when it crashed in a parking lot, the Brevard County Sheriff's Office said. J.D. Byrider Systems Inc., a used car finance company in Carmel, Ind., identified the two passengers as James DeVoe, company president and chief executive, and Steele Gudal, DeVoe's son-in-law. The pilot's name was not immediately known.
