Schools roundup

BENITO MIDDLE SCHOOL, 631-4694: Parents' Night Out is at 6:30 p.m. April 4 in the cafeteria. The topic is "Internet Safety and Your Child." Tutoring volunteers are needed one day a week during the period of their choice to help students reach benchmarks in reading and math.

CLARK ELEMENTARY, 631-4333: The Kindergarten Countdown is 8:30 to 10 a.m. Wednesday in the multipurpose room. Information for next school year and campus tours will be available.

Target will donate a percentage of all purchases made using a Target Visa or Target Card to the PTA through the Take Charge of Education program. Visit www.target.com/tcoe or call 1-800-316-6142 to designate the school.

GAITHER HIGH SCHOOL, 975-7340: The PTSA is looking for sponsors for the Splash Bash graduation party at Adventure Island in May. Individual or business contributions will be acknowledged in the monthly newsletter and on the back of official Splash Bash T-shirts.

LAKE MAGDALENE ELEMENTARY, 975-7625:There will be a kindergarten roundup at 8:30 a.m. Friday in the media center. There will be an introduction to the teachers, as well as registration and a tour of the school. Those wishing to register their child should bring a birth certificate, Social Security number and proof of residence.

LOWRY ELEMENTARY, 855-8178: The PTA is seeking individuals and businesses to sponsor the Spring Golf Outing at Countryway Golf Club on May 6. Vendors also are needed for catering, prizes, raffles and theme baskets.

NORTHWEST ELEMENTARY, 975-7315: The Dads Club meets at 6:30 p.m. the first Thursday of every month in the cafeteria. Membership is open all year.

TAMPA PALMS ELEMENTARY, 975-7390: The spring carnival and auction will be 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. April 8. There will be clowns, face painting, an inflatable moon bouncer, silent auction, and food from Chick-fil-A and Dip-N-Dots. Proceeds will benefit the PTA. The school is also seeking members for its team for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, which will be held on April 21-22.

TURNER ELEMENTARY, 907-9066: Students can paint a tile to go onto the building through Friday. Order forms available at the front office.
