Classic rock 'n' roll takes center stage

If you go to Chasco Fiesta tonight in Sims Park in New Port Richey, take your dancing shoes. It's classic rock 'n' roll from 6 to 10, with three popular area bands on the amphitheater stage: Knight Sounds, Forever Young and Glass Onion.

Earlier in the day, the West Pasco Kiwanis Flea Market continues at the New Port Richey Recreation Center on Van Buren Street. The Native American Festival will be open from 5 to 10 p.m.

Food booths will be open around the paved walk in Sims Park, as well as in the Native American campground.

Events are in Sims Park unless otherwise noted:

Today

9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.: West Pasco Kiwanis Flea Market, New Port Richey Recreation Center, Van Buren Street

5-10 p.m.: Native American Festival; Chasco Carnival

6-10 p.m.: Classic Rock 'n' Roll with Knight Sounds, Forever Young and Glass Onion

Wednesda y5-10 p.m.: Native American Festival; Chasco Carnival

6-10 p.m.: Variety Night in the Park with Hazard Factor, Tator Junktion and Rhythm Express

Thursday

5-10 p.m.: Native American Festival; Chasco Carnival

6-11 p.m.: Rhythm and Bluesmasters (Admission $5 in advance, $7 at the gate) with Joe Class, Mikki Taylor, Sean Chambers, Damon Fowler and Lee Roy Parnell

Friday

10 a.m.-4 p.m.: Chasco Fiesta Memorabilia Exhibit, West Pasco Historical Society

8:15 a.m.: 10K In-line Skate, Bicycle Tours (10K, 25K, 50K and 100K and the 16K off-road mountain bike race); 5K and 10K foot race and 8K off-road foot race; 1-mile Fun Run and Walk, all at Jay B. Starkey Wilderness Park; registration is 7 to 8 a.m.

9 a.m.: Chasco Kayak races, Pithlachascotee River at Sims Park

10 a.m.-11 p.m.: Native American Festival; Chasco Carnival
