Poker tournaments are back at Derby Lane. The games started again March 17, two months after the facility suspended them when state officials told track officials the games violated state law. The track also suspended play for two weeks in November, but started the games again after tweaking point values on chips.

Deportee convicted of helping Nazis kill
An 85-year-old Lithuanian deported from Gulfport was convicted Monday of helping Nazis murder Jews during World War II, but the judge said the man was too frail to serve prison time. The Vilnius District Court said Algimantas Dailide helped round up Jews for the Nazis as part of the Nazi-backed Vilnius security police during World War II, when nearly 90 percent of Lithuania's Jewish population was killed. The former real estate agent lived in Gulfport and Clearwater since 1955 before he was deported in 2003.
A street dancing Eagle should have soared

Jones was charged with failing to obey a lawful command after he allegedly refused to stop dancing about 3 a.m. outside a South Beach club. The 6-foot-1, 240-pound Jones, 28, has played the past two seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Another Harris staffer leaves the campaign
Well, money wasn't an issue. As everybody knows, U.S. Rep. Katherine Harris, R-Longboat Key, has promised to put $10-million of her own money into her U.S. Senate campaign to bolster weak fundraising. But that didn't stop her longtime media consultant, Tampa's Adam Goodman, from quitting. Goodman on Monday joined a growing list of ex-Harris staffers, calling her a "tremendous client and friend over the years."
