TAMPA - The man accused of stalking American Idol finalist Jessica Sierra is not competant to stand trial, a court-appointed doctor has decided.

Daniel Robert Young, 60, must undergo psychiatric treatment at a secure facility before he can stand trial for his misdemeanor stalking charge. The charge carries a maximum one year sentence in county jail.

Young allegedly started calling Sierra last fall, posing as a music talent scout. When she didn't return his calls, he became more aggressive, Sierra has said. When Sierra was in Tampa visiting her grandparents, he flew from California to confront her on Jan. 17.

His defense attorney and prosecutors are working together to find an appropriate treatment facility for Young, they said Tuesday in Hillsborough Circuit Court. At an April 13 status hearing, they will present their plan for treatment to the judge.
