PHILADELPHIA - Bobby Abreu's hit a three-run homer in the ninth inning in the opener of a doubleheader as Philadelphia stopped a season-opening four-game losing streak.
In the nightcap Brad Penny allowed only one runner to reach second base after the first inning, and put the Dodgers ahead 2-1 in the fourth with a broken-bat single off Jon Lieber as Los Angeles earned a split.
NOTABLE: Former Ray Lance Carter finished the Dodgers' seven-hitter in the nightcap.
