TAMPA - A motorcyclist died after his bike collided with a minivan Wednesday evening, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Mark F. Mathews, 35, of Tampa was killed when his 2003 Suzuki motorcycle collided with the front of a minivan at Martin Luther King Jr. and Riga boulevards shortly before 10 p.m., the patrol said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

His motorcycle burst into flames, which caused the van, a 2003 Honda Odyssey, to catch fire. The driver of the van, Tisha A. Bennett, 28, of Tampa, had minor injuries. No charges have been filed, but the investigation is continuing, the patrol said.

SWAT team raids Tarpon home, makes 2 arrests

TARPON SPRINGS - The Pinellas County sheriff's SWAT team raided a Grosse Avenue home, where they arrested two people and seized drugs and guns early Thursday, sheriff's officials said.

The high risk search warrant was issued after a two-week investigation found street level drug dealing at the residence, they said. Deputies entered the home at 320-A S Grosse Ave. at 4:30 a.m. and found four guns, including an AK-47, and small amounts of hydrocodone and marijuana, officials said.

Robert Reynolds, 29, was charged with drug possession, and Viney Richards, 37, was charged with drug and weapon offenses. Reynolds was held in the Pinellas County Jail in lieu of $5,250 bail, Richards in lieu of $120,000 bail.
