Woman arrested in man's stabbing

By TIMES STAFF WRITER

TAMPA - A man was hospitalized in serious condition Tuesday with a stab wound, and police have arrested the mother of his child.

Tampa police said Nicole Davis, 24, and Ruben Malave, 25, got into an argument at their shared residence at 8511 N Lamar St.

Malave threatened to leave, according to a police report, and authorities think Davis stabbed him in the chest with an 8-inch kitchen knife. Davis then drove Malave to St. Joseph's Hospital, where he was said to be in serious but stable condition.

Davis was arrested later at her home and booked into Orient Road Jail. She is charged with attempted felony murder and is being held without bail.
