BOB DYLAN CONCERT: Folk icon Bob Dylan will perform at 7:30 p.m. May 10 at the University of South Florida Sun Dome, 4202 E Fowler Ave.

This is the second-to-last scheduled concert date for the music legend's spring tour, which moves the next night to Hollywood, Fla. It kicked off in Reno on April 1.

PLANT SALE: Tampa Bay Plant Societies will hold a plant sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 6 and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 7 at Lake Park, 17302 N Dale Mabry Highway.

Tropicals, aroids, begonias, hibiscus, orchids, palms, cactus, succulents and yard art will be on sale. Admission and parking are free.

UU DOME CONCERT: Don White will perform at 8 p.m. April 29 at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Tampa, 11400 Morris Bridge Road. Singer-songwriter Ellen Bukstel will open the show.

White is more than a singer and songwriter. He is also a storyteller and humorist. He has released three CDs and a DVD.The concert costs $15. Call (813) 988-8188.

Folk and acoustic singer Kevin So will perform at 7:30 p.m. May 11.

The singer-songwriter will perform solo at the UU Dome, which he has visited previously. He recently performed in Hong Kong and is on the lineup for the Asian Rock Fest, which is in May in New York. So will release his 10th album, The Brooklyn Sessions, in July.

SKIPPER'S SMOKEHOUSE: The Eric Steckel Band will perform at 8 p.m. today at Skipper's Smokehouse, 910 Skipper Road. Southern Culture on the Skids and the Weary Boys will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday.

Steckel, a blues guitarist, is 15 years old and strongly influenced by the 3-Kings. The concert costs $5 to $7.

Southern Culture on the Skids is a North Carolina swamp-rock, trashabilly, rock 'n' roll trio. The group began playing together two decades ago in tiny clubs and has been traveling with the Weary Boys. Tickets cost between $12 and $15.

POET LAUREATE: National Poet Laureate Ted Kooser will give a poetry reading at 7:30 p.m. April 29 at the Center for the Arts at Wesley Chapel, 30651 Wells Road.

Appointed poet laureate in 2004, Kooser was named to a second term in 2005. He was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for poetry in 2005.

Saint Leo University and New River Poets are sponsoring the event. Tickets are free but limited. For ticket information, call (813) 782-2831.
