Golf: big east conference championships

WHEN: Sunday-Tuesday.

WHERE: Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club, Dade City.

DIRECTIONS: Lake Jovita is located on State Road 52, five miles east of I-75.

TEAMS: Louisville, Notre Dame, Marquette (men only), USF, St. John's, Villanova (men only), Georgetown, DePaul (men only), Rutgers, Connecticut (men only), Cincinnati, Seton Hall (men only).

NOTES: Lake Jovita is a first-time host for the event, which was at Warren Golf Course in South Bend, Ind., five of the past six years. ... The Louisville men, ranked 48th in the country according to Golfstat, and Notre Dame women, rated 56th, are seeded first. ... The men's teams will compete for an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships. The women do not receive an automatic bid until 2008, but a strong showing should help a team earn an at-large bid. ... Chris Black (Zephyrhills) plays for the USF men. ... Claudia Ramirez and Isabel Ramirez of Saddlebrook Prep play for the USF women.
