Dance for teens gets hopping on Friday

DUNEDIN - A dance for teenagers 13 to 17 will be 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Friday at the Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center, 550 Laura Lane. Cost is $3, and a coupon gets two teens in for the price of one. Music will be provided by a DJ, and there will be refreshments. Call 738-2920.

Community Sailing Day offers oceans of fun

DUNEDIN - Free hot dogs, free sailing lessons and games are part of the fun planned for Community Sailing Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Dunedin Marina, 51 Main St. Participants will be taught how to rig and sail a pram, and learn knots and rules of the waterways. Call 298-3266.

City to mark Arbor Day with tree giveaway

CLEARWATER - The city will celebrate Arbor Day with a ceremony and tree giveaway from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Public Services Complex, 1650 N Arcturas Ave. During the ceremony, a representative from the Florida Division of Forestry will present the city with its 24th Tree City USA award. More than 1,800 trees will be available, including live oak, South Florida slash pine, bald cypress, red maple, Southern red cedar and crepe myrtle in several colors. Clearwater residents will be able to select two trees per household. Call 562-4661.

Water ski team shows off its stuff Saturday

OLDSMAR - The Tampa Bay Water Ski Show Team is holding its fourth annual free Ski Fest exhibition all day Saturday at Tower Lake, off Douglas Road behind the Oldsmar Flea Market. Team performances will be at noon, 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. with previews of their new theme show at 2:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. The event will include children's activities, food and beverage concessions and team merchandise.
