Tonight: Rays at Yankees
By TIMES STAFF WRITER
Published April 27, 2006
WHEN/WHERE: 7:05; Yankee Stadium, Bronx, N.Y.
TV/RADIO: FSN; 1250-AM, 820-AM (Spanish). PROBABLE PITCHERS: Rays - LHP Mark Hendrickson (1-0, 0.00); Yankees - RHP Shawn Chacon (2-1, 5.59).
RAYS TICKETS: Available at Tropicana Field box office, all Ticketmaster outlets, through devilrays.com and the Devil Rays Dugout store at WestShore Plaza in Tampa.
RAYS INFORMATION: (727) 825-3250.
WATCH FOR ... ON THE MARK: As much as the Rays are glad to see Mark Hendrickson back, so are the Yankees. Gary Sheffield is 9-for-19 (with two homers) against him, Johnny Damon 11-for-25 (with five doubles), Alex Rodriguez 9-for-24 (with one homer) and Jorge Posada 8-for-25 (with two homers).
SEEING SHAWN: Former Padre Sean Burroughs is the only Ray with much experience (3-for-11) against Yankees starter Shawn Chacon, a former Rockie. Otherwise, the Rays will have to go mostly by the scouting reports.
END OF THE ROAD: It may be 3 a.m. by the time they get there, but the Rays will be happy to go home after tonight's game given their struggles on this road trip.
