STUDENT PERFORMANCES: Stage West Community Playhouse, in conjunction with Powell Middle School, will present "Playfest," a weekend of theater performances at 8 p.m. today, Saturday and Sunday at the playhouse, 8390 Forest Oaks Blvd., Spring Hill. MOM AND SON: The Hernando County Recreation Department will host a mother-son Day in the Park from 4 to 7 p.m. May 6 at Anderson Snow Park, 1360 Anderson Snow Road. The event will include biking, walking or inline skating along the Suncoast Trail, games, a barbecue lunch (burgers, hot dogs, baked beans, soda and popcorn) and a complimentary photo. Door prizes will be awarded. Tickets are $5 for mothers and $5 for sons and will be limited to 100 couples.
