CINCO DE MAYO SOCIAL: Ye Loyal Krewe of Samuel Bellamy, a co-ed Gasparilla pirate krewe, will have a social meeting from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at Tampa Palms Golf and Country Club, 5811 Tampa Palms Blvd. Prospective members are welcome; RSVP is required at least two hours in advance. SATURDAY

FLORIDA KIDCARE KID FAIR: The free Kid Fair for Florida KidCare is part of the local celebration of Cover the Uninsured Week, which runs through Sunday. The event will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at Bowers/Whitley Career Center, 13609 N 22nd St. Festivities will include face painting, music, free food and giveaways. Enrollment information about KidCare, the state's low-cost or free health insurance program for uninsured children under age 19, will be provided. Primary sponsors include Florida Covering Kids and Families, USF Health and AMERIGROUP.

MONDAY

GFWC LITTLE WOMEN OF LUTZ: The group, sponsored by the GFWC Lutz/Land O'Lakes Woman's Club, will install new officers at its end-of-the-year covered dish dinner. Mothers are invited to attend the 7 p.m. event at the home of adviser Marilyn Wannamaker.

TUESDAY

FORESTERS, TARPON BRANCH: The monthly meeting will be at Piccadilly Cafeteria, 11810 N Dale Mabry Highway. Members of the Tarpon Branch No. 1481 will meet for dinner at 5:30 p.m. and for a business meeting at 6:30 p.m. The International Fraternal Benefit Society provides benefits and financial services to its members and serves communities through fundraising activities, projects and volunteerism. LAWMAKER TO SPEAK: The Carrollwood Community Bar Association will have its monthly meeting at noon at Piccadilly Cafeteria, 11810 N Dale Mabry Highway. Rep. Kevin Ambler, R-Lutz, will give an update about the legislative session, particularly laws involving the legal system. Call (813) 960-1952.

LOOKING AHEAD

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR LITTER INDEX: Volunteers working in groups of five are needed to participate in the annual Litter Index sponsored by Keep Hillsborough Beautiful. The survey of 10 sites, in each of the four county commissioner districts, will run throughout May, and it will take only a few hours a day that are convenient for volunteers. Each site will be rated on a scale of one to four, ranging from no litter to extremely littered. Participants will receive thank you packets including a T-shirt and certificate of appreciation. High school students can earn community service hours. Call (813) 960-5121.

LIBRARY PROGRAMS: The Tampa-Hillsborough County Public Library Cooperative and Temple Terrace Public Library offer a variety of free programs at all locations for adults and children. Call or visit your nearest library.
