Harvick to stay put with Childress team
By TIMES WIRES

All signs indicate the Kevin Harvick sweepstakes are over.
With Harvick's contract ending this year, there was widespread speculation he would jump to a new Toyota team. But his Richard Childress Racing No.29 has dramatically improved with a victory, three top-five and four top-10 finishes in Nextel Cup and two victories and the points lead in the Busch Series. He and Childress say they expect to be back together next season and beyond.
An announcement could come as early as today.
There should be news this weekend from Dale Jarrett about whether he'll move from Robert Yates Racing to Michael Waltrip's Toyota team next year.
HAMLIN HURT: Rookie driver Denny Hamlin cut his left hand on a sharp piece of chrome during horseplay after a test session at Lowe's Motor Speedway on Wednesday night, but he is not expected to miss any time in his Busch or Nextel Cup cars this weekend.
Hamlin, gearing up for his first start at Richmond in NASCAR's premier series, suffered the cut, which required stitches, while he and his crew members were racing around the team hauler.
