TARPON SPRINGS - Robert Lee Peterson, 33, was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident with injuries and driving without a valid license late Wednesday night, police said.

Peterson, 33, struck two of his neighbors in the Hillside Trailer Park on U.S. 19 N in his 1989 Buick. Police said that James F. Pugh, 29, had minor injuries, but Thomas A. Langan, 46, was flown to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, where he remained in fair condition Friday afternoon. Peterson told police he drove to New Port Richey with his fiancee before turning himself in. He was aware his car had struck the two men, but said he was afraid to stop. Peterson was taken into custody early Thursday morning, and was being held at thePinellas County Jail on $10,250 bail.
