Published May 10, 2006

ST. PETERSBURG - Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Shelton Quarles will be the keynote speaker Thursday at the St. Petersburg Police Athletic League's annual breakfast.

Along with former Buc Warrick Dunn, who now plays for the Atlanta Falcons, Quarles and other professional athletes are involved with the Home for the Holidays program that helps single mothers with down payments on houses. With sponsors, the athletes also help furnish the homes.

Warrick is expected to encourage his audience to give to organizations such as PAL that focus on helping children. The event begins at 7 a.m. at the Hilton St. Petersburg, 333 First St. S.
