RANGERS 6, RED SOX 0 (51/2): BOSTON - Hank Blalock was 2-for-3 with a homer and Kameron Loe earned his first career complete game in a game shortened by rain.
Loe (2-3) allowed five hits and a walk, striking out four before the game was called in the bottom of the sixth with a 2-and-2 count on leadoff hitter David Ortiz. Matt Clement (3-3) gave up four runs and six hits, walking two and striking out four in five innings.
The Red Sox put runners on second and third in the third and fourth innings, both times with one out. But Loe pitched out of it with two groundouts each time, then got the side in order in the fifth.
Rain is expected to plague the entire three-game homestand.
Clement last pitched on May 4, and his start was pushed back because of a rainout when the Red Sox decided to keep the rest of the rotation on its regular days. He gave up Blalock's homer to lead off the second, then Texas scored three in the third.
Rod Barajas led off with a double and Gary Matthews Jr. singled to make it 2-0.
NOTABLE: Red Sox manager Terry Francona said centerfielder Coco Crisp's recovery from a broken finger has been delayed because of an undisclosed illness.
YANKEES 2, ATHLETICS 0: NEW YORK - Alex Rodriguez and Bernie Williams homered, and Chien-Ming Wang pitched three-hit ball for eight innings.
Rodriguez, booed in his first two at-bats after striking out, pulled an offspeed pitch from Barry Zito (2-3) over the wall in left-center. Before the homer, Rodriguez was hitting .210 (13-for-62) in his career against Zito.
Williams added his second homer of the season in the eighth.
Wang (3-1), helped by four double plays, had the best of his 25 career starts, never allowing a runner past first. He gave up three singles, walked two and struck out none, getting 20 outs on grounders.
Pitching for the third straight night, Mariano Rivera finished with a one-hit ninth for his seventh save in eight chances.
NOTABLE: A's were without third baseman Eric Chavez (bacterial infection) and catcher Jason Kendall (serving a suspension) for the fourth straight game.
ORIOLES 6, ROYALS 5: BALTIMORE - Corey Patterson homered, had four RBIs and scored the tiebreaking run in the eighth inning for Baltimore.
Patterson hit a three-run homer in the second inning and drove in a run in the sixth with a groundout before leading off the eighth with a single against Elmer Dessens (2-3). He stole second as Kevin Millar struck out and went to third on a grounder before scoring on single by rookie Brandon Fahey.
Todd Williams (1-0) pitched two innings of one-hit relief, and Chris Ray got three outs for his ninth save.
Emil Brown homered and drove in two runs for the Royals, whose modest three-game winning streak ended. Kansas City is a major league-worst 2-15 on the road.
Ramon Hernandez had two hits and scored twice for the Orioles, who had lost six of seven and nine of 11.
NOTABLE: Orioles starters have gone eight straight games without a win.
TIGERS 5, INDIANS 4: CLEVELAND - Kenny Rogers won his third straight start, and Craig Monroe and Marcus Thames hit homers for Detroit.
Monroe snapped a 2-2 tie with a two-run homer in the seventh inning off Cleveland's Cliff Lee (2-4). Ivan Rodriguez had an RBI double later in the inning.
Casey Blake homered twice for Cleveland, which lost its fourth straight.
Rogers (6-2) gave up two runs and eight hits over 61/3 innings. The 41-year-old struck out four and walked one in beating the Indians for the second time this season and improving to 5-0 against Central Division teams.
Todd Jones worked the ninth for his eighth save in nine chances.
Thames hit Lee's first pitch of the second inning 417 feet into the bleachers in left-center for his fifth homer and a 1-0 lead.
Monroe was 1-for-19 against Lee in his career when he doubled to open the fifth. Brandon Inge followed with an RBI single to make it 2-0. Blake hit his fifth homer with one out in the bottom half.
NOTABLE: Since Jacobs Field opened in 1994, the Tigers lead all visiting teams with 100 home runs.
TWINS 10: WHITE SOX 1: MINNEAPOLIS - Johan Santana struck out 10 in seven innings and the Twins hit three home runs.
Justin Morneau, Tony Batista and Joe Mauer homered for the Twins, who have won three straight and five of six as they try and climb out of a big hole left by a 9-15 April.
Every time Santana (4-3) takes the mound these days, the Twins have a chance. He scattered five hits and struck out at least one batter in all seven of his innings to win his fourth straight start.
Santana reached double digits in strikeouts for the third time in four starts and 26th of his career. He has allowed just four runs in three starts this month.
Chicago's Jon Garland (2-2) gave up seven runs and 11 hits in 51/3 innings.
Morneau's two-run homer in the second was almost taken away by a leaping Brian Anderson in center, and Batista's solo shot just reached the seats in left for a 6-0 lead.
NOTABLE: Chicago catcher A.J. Pierzynski hit 18 homers in 2005 but is homerless in his last 53 games.
ANGELS 12, MARINERS 7: ANAHEIM, Calif. - Juan Rivera hit his third career grand slam, Tim Salmon had a homer and two RBIs, and the Angels got their fourth victory in 14 games.
Kelvim Escobar (5-2) allowed six runs - five earned - and 11 hits in six innings, but the two-time defending AL West champs compensated for the right-hander's subpar outing by matching their highest run total of the season. The Angels have scored 24 runs in their last two games - two fewer than they had over their previous 11 games combined.
Hector Carrasco allowed a run and three hits over the final three innings for his first save of the season.
Joel Pineiro (4-3) lasted three innings, allowing six runs and six hits. The right-hander retired only nine of 17 batters after winning his previous three starts against the Angels.
NOTABLE: Seattle's Ichiro Suzuki grounded into his first double play of the season in his 154th at-bat.
